A New Perspective

I received an e-mail today from a very good friend and reader thanking me for her new perspective on life.  I’m sure she wouldn’t mind if I shared it with you.

Gina,  I have to share something with you that might have effected me differently before.  I was just looking outside at the rain.  There was a time when I would have grumbled at that, but all that came to my mind was how the little corns that were just planted needed that drink to grow, and how the tired farmers needed a day or two to rest.  Thanks for the new perspective! - Cathy

For me, this was the greatest compliment I could receive.  To know that I have made a difference in someone’s life, to know that even one person has been touched in a positive way is such a great personal reward.

We are all capable of achieving a “New Perspective”.  It is our choice.  We can choose to enjoy life’s beauty and wonder or go about with blinders on unable to see what we were meant to see.

Everything you experience in your life is a result of your perception of your world.  We need to perceive our world in a way that benefits us.  How we react to things in our mind is more important than the “things” themselves.  We can always control the things that go on inside of us.

As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” – Proverbs 23:7

For all our life, we have been taught to believe we should be down or depressed when certain things happen in our life.  It’s not whether you have problems - we all have problems.  We all have to deal with problems every day.  It’s the attitude we take toward those problems that makes all the difference.  I choose an attitude of .

I choose the “”.

Why Boys Need Parents

Laughter is very good medicine.   It seems I receive many good jokes and pictures from friends, family and readers.   Some of them are special and touch my funny bone or my heart.   I can’t imagine why I have not shared some of them with you before now.   Enjoy!  Gina

Above Life’s Turmoil

“Love of truth shows itself in this; that a man knows how to find and value the good in everything.”

Yesterday, a new friend of mine remarked that I was the most positive person she had ever met in her entire life. I thanked her and have been pondering her statement since, this being the first time I have ever received that compliment.

Not so many years ago, no one would have said those words to me. No one could have said those words to me.

Above Life's Turmoil

It is true. I am living Above Life’s Turmoil. I have consciously chosen to ignore the negative events in my life and look for the positive in everything. This is something that can be done by any one and everyone. It is a process, and something that doesn’t happen over night. But a process that can and will change your life.

“To be what we are, and to become what we are capable of becoming, is the only end of life.”

As I look back on the changes in my life, I see that I have become free of so many things we don’t even realize are keeping us down: Conflict and anger, jealousy and fear, Monday morning blahs and road rage to name a few.

While speaking to my new friend about my outlook on life, she opened up to me about the trials and tribulations she has had and continues to experience. I realized that so many people are living this way and feel there is no escape. This is so untrue. I know. I am living proof.

“The turmoil of the world we cannot avoid, but the disturbances of the mind we can overcome. The duties and difficulties of life claim our attention, but we can rise above all anxiety concerning them. Surrounded by noise we can yet have a quiet mind; involved in responsibilities, the heart can be at rest; in the midst of strife, we can know the abiding peace rising above the turbulence of the world”

My desire is to do my best to help others understand the implications of living this way. To be able to feel and live “”.
